Kanno Ryouta

Women in the Dreams

Is makura’s work an illusion or a nostalgia?

You cannot tell. Can’t fit in such a frame. It makes you feel the bizarre perspective.

You feel like you saw it somewhere, You haven’t seen it even after tracing your memory. There is confusion. That is what makes it attractive.
Many of makura’s works are women portraits, but surprisingly there is a fresh impression every time you encounter. Everything gives an individual impression, so it has nothing to do with redundancy.
makura invites us into the labyrinth and leaves us.

Manipulated and misled like a marionette, drawing in the eyes of the women.
